Should I bring my ACU patches to basic?

Ya'll told me not to bring my ACUs, but what about my patches? And my name and rank tapes?
I'm in the National Guard and we were issued ACUs at my first drill weekend in March. I got my name tapes last drill and I get my dog tags tomorrow.

I've had a hard time getting in touch with my recruiters and sergeants to ask them about what I need to bring when I ship.

When I asked about ACUs, I was told not to bring them. They said if I bring them, the drill sergeants will only issue me 2, but if I leave them at home they'll issue me 3, so I'll end up having 4. Does the same go for my patches or would it benefit me to bring them?
No, we don't return them. They're ours. We were instructed to write our name and last 4 in everything we were issued because they wouldn't be replacing them.

Your NCO's should have done a better job squaring you away and honestly there lack of attention to detail kinda p*sses me off.
