Desert Burn Hoodia is a fairly new product to the weight loss market. There are so many new products lately, claiming to be the next weight loss miracle, making it hard to decide which one to use.
What Is Hoodia Gordonii
Hoodia Gordonii is an all natural product from Africa that claims to curb your appetite, making it much easier to lose weight. They say that the African Bushmen have eaten it for years with no side effects.
I had heard about Hoodia before, but I had never heard about this company called Desert Burn, that sells Hoodia Gordonii, so I decided to check them out. What I found out was pretty interesting. I learned that Hoodia Gordonii is a plant that looks similar to a small cactus.
I found when doing my research that the Hoodia Gordonii plant is very endangered. The South African, and United States governments, along with several other countries, have an agreement to limit the amount of exportation of this product so its survival is not threatened.
Is It Genuine Hoodia
I also found that the only way to tell if a product is genuine Hoodia Gordonii, is to look for the C.I.T.E.S certificate. This is a certificate issued, stating that this is Hoodia from Africa, and that it has been inspected by the United Stated to be free of any harmful pests, and is indeed pure Hoodia Gordonii. I checked the website for the Desert Burn Hoodia product, and found they had the required certificates.
I also found during my research that it is best to purchase Hoodia that has also been inspected by a third party. I found out that the pharmaceutical company Alkemist checked the Desert Burn Hoodia, with chemical analysis, and passed the product.
Desert Burn has a copy of this certificate displayed on their web site as proof of this analysis.
What Have Users Been Saying
I did a lot of searching for information on Hoodia Gordonii, and from what I found on various forums, blogs, and web sites, everyone was positive about the results they had with this product. I found several that said the weight started to come off almost immediately. I did find several that also stated they had changed their lifestyle, with better eating habits, and some exercise, while taking the Hoodia. All in all, the reviews I found were positive.
Important Note
It's important to note that the availability of Hoodia Gordonii is not guaranteed. Because the export of the product from Africa is limited, and the demand is so high, it's becoming hard for the small number of companies that have the rights to sell Hoodia Gordonii, to meet this increasing demand. It is possible that the African Government could slow down or stop exporting this product at any time, in order to keep it from being over harvested.

I'm looking to purchase a 1956's remodeled home in the desert.. any suggestions?
Everything about this home inside and out looks brand new because it has been remodeled, however it is an older home built in the 50's.. Is there somethings I need to be looking out for? (warnings?) I heard that older homes were better insulated because they were built more 'solid' than newer homes that are built quickly but lightly.. is that true? What about abestos issues?

A thorough home inspection should alert you to any major issues. Homes were built more solidly back then, but not necessarily better insulated - they didn't really start insulating the exterior walls until the 60's. Asbestos is probably not a problem unless there's acoustic/cottage cheese ceilings, and even then it's not an issue really unless it's disturbed (personally I think that whole thing is overblown media hype..asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that's present about everywhere). You'll definitely want a well-functioning air conditioning and evaporative cooling system, a good roof and good insulation.
