Here Is Why A Laser Engraving Machine Could Be Perfect For Your Business
Traditional army or marine dog tags usually are not laser engraved with a laser engraving machine but alternatively are embossed, a technique that involves stamping text letters, numbers and some special characters stamped into the stainless steel giving the words a raised look and feel. These kinds of tags are generally manufactured from stainless steel and feature a rolled edge. Embossed steel dog tags have held it's place in use by the US armed forces for a long time and even extends back to WWI. Armed forces style dog tags are normally created from anodized metal and don't make use of a rolled edge. These types of dog tags are personalized by using laser engraving machinery to imprint writing on the steel as well as logos on two sides or simply just one. In contrast to traditional armed forces dog tags that are customarily manufactured in silver or possibly brass, armed service style engraved dog tags are accessible in a very wide array of aluminium colours (i.e. brown, blue, crimson, green, magenta, gold etc.). Both of the various styles of custom dog tags may just be fitted with rubber dog tag silencers to prevent them from producing sound whenever they dangle around an individual's neck and can often be employed as attractive neck chains or perhaps split rings meant for keys. Some other techniques for designing dog tags are pad stamping and also full color process printing. These kinds of techniques can handle reproducing designs in just one color or more while laser engraved creations just appear white.
Just how does a laser beam produce specialized engraved merchandise? It is possible to find a couple of different types of laser engraving tools available in the market: Co2 equipment and also Nd:YAG systems. To engrave, both systems will aim a beam of high strength light through a lens. This high-intensity, focused laser beam easily provides sufficient energy to enable you to vaporize the anodized covering on the steel, exposing the metal under the surface area therefore causing a exceptionally visible mark on the material. A Co2 process forms the graphic very much like an older conventional dot matrix printer would by marking left to right while it moves downward till the image is complete by just pulsing the laser beam in order to create the graphic by vaporizing the stainless steel while it moves. The Nd:YAG laser engraving method achieves this by simply pointing the laser beam at a mirror and a computer system directs the reflection in order to aim the laser which makes the markings on the top.
When considering producing laser engraved dog tags and also other goods, each of these systems are not the same. The significantly slower Co2 laser engraver will be able to produce marks of different quality based upon on the actual products tone (anodized covering). Superior quality will be specified in terms of the particular brightness of the mark this method makes. The brighter it is, the greater the quality. A high quality laser engraved mark will show up white colored whatever the color of the particular steel getting laser engraved. With Co2 units, some marks will take on the coloring of the actual light weight aluminum getting marked which ends in a very considerably less appealing impression. Problematic hues regarding this method are usually crimson, blue as well as black. Rarely, if ever can any Co2 laser engraver deliver an attractive and bright white mark upon custom dog tags of the aforementioned small amount of colors.

Has anyone ever heard of the superstition "no three on a match?"?
I heard this from my father a couple weeks ago. We looked it up and it's a WWI superstition about being shot by a sniper if you had a flame showing too long. I ask this because I was wondering if there are any more unique and rare superstitions that anyone might know and wish to share. They have to be uncommon or even personal family superstitions, but not just your own OCD behavior. So if you know any, I would like to hear them. Thanks.
A friend of mine (retired US Navy SEAL Commander) was in PSYCH OPS in Viet Nam. To clear a village of suspected VC sympathizers, they'd steal one of the white geese, die it black and put it back with the other geese. A black goose is considered bad luck. The village would empty and move away.
It was considered either poor taste or bad luck to talk "out loud" of who was gonna get it next (killed or wounded). That kind of talk "could" cause a fist fight.
In Iraq, U.S. Marine snipers sneak behind enemy lines camouflaged in ghillie suits, handcrafted from
individual strands of burlap and foliage picked up as they collect intelligence and stalk enemy commanders. It is a very personal way to kill, and so snipers consider the suits, weapons and even bullets to be almost sacred. Snipers won't let anyone wear their ghillie suits or look through the
scopes of their 7.62 mm rifles. Each sniper wears a special amulet on a cord around his neck: a smooth 7.62 mm slug. "This is the bullet that's going to take you out," one sniper said, "As long as it's around your neck, you'll be kept safe."
It is widely known among the Marines in Iraq that eating Charms candies is just asking for a rainstorm, even in the desert. Some Marines are rumored to bury the candies when they get them in
their military Meals Ready-to-Eat. Some Marines throws theirs away, and are equally dubious about the MRE's green candy-coated gum, rumored to contain a laxative. One Marine said he has heard that if you get green gum it means your wife is having an affair in your absence. That belief, though, doesn't seem very widespread, which is just as well as there are only two colors of
MRE gum -- green and white.
In the U.S. Navy (not sure where this started) but if you reported on board a ship for duty, you never stepped on board with your left foot or you would have bad luck during your tour on board.
“Red sky in the morning, sailor take warning. Red sky at night, sailor’s delight." This actually is a pretty good rule of thumb. I've used it for years, being a biker. It has it's basis in the Bible, in the book of Matthew, chapter 16, verses 2 & 3. "2.He replied, "When evening comes, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,' 3.and in the morning, 'Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.'...
As for THREE ON A MATCH, there was in fact no such superstition during the First World War. (The light would not be visible if the soldiers were in a trench or bunker, as they usually were when not attacking.) The superstition was alleged to have been invented about a decade later by the Swedish match tycoon Ivar Kreuger in an attempt to get people to use more matches but it appears he merely made very shrewd use of the already existing belief which may date to the Boer War. In the 1916 novel "The Wonderful Year" the following explanation is given: "It arises out of the Russian funeral ritual in which the three altar candles are lit by the same taper. To apply the same method of illumination to three worldly things like cigars or cigarettes is regarded as an act of impiety and hence as unlucky."
