Itinerary A : Luxor - Aswan 3 Nights Every Saturday

 

Day 1 : Embark the cruise - Luxor sightseeing tours

Meet and assist by our travel REP in your arrival at Luxor airport, train terminal, or Luxorhotels and transfer to the Movenpick Royal Lotus Nile Cruise ship. Embarkation before Lunch with leisurely free time. lunch is served on board the nile cruise. Afternoon, guided tour to visit East Bank (Karnak & Luxor Temples) then you will be transferred back to the nile cruise dinner, overnight stay in Luxor.

 

Day 2: Luxor sightseeing - Edfu

Breakfast on board the Movenpick Royal Lotus Nile Cruise luxor, followed by a guided tour to visit the West Bank (The Valley of the Kings, The temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El-Deir El-Bahari and the famous colossi of Memnon ). Back to the nile cruise to sail to Esna, lunch is served on board with Afternoon tea, dinner, overnight stay in Edfu aboard the nile cruise ship.

 

Day 3: Edfu - Kom Ombo sightseeing tour

Breakfast a board the Movenpick Royal Lotus Nile Cruise in Edfu, followed by a wonderful guided tour to visit Horus Templein Edfu with transfer back to the cruise ship to start sailing to Kom Ombo. Lunch is served on board the nile cruise. In arrival in Kom Ombo you will pay a visit the Temple shared by the two gods Sobek and Haeroris , back to the nile cruise for afternoon tea, dinner, overnight in Aswan.

 

Day 4: Aswan sightseeing tour

Breakfast a board the Movenpick Royal Lotus Nile Cruise, then disembarkt after breakfast . Followed by a guided tour to visit the High Dam, the Temple of Philaeand unfinished Obelisk, then you will be transferred to Aswan airport, train terminal or Aswan Hotels.

Day 1 : Embarkation / Kitchener's island tour by Felucca

Embarkation before Lunch followed by a free time at leisure. Lunch on board the nile cruise in Aswan. Afternoon you will sail on the Nile by Felucca (Motor boat) around Kitchener's island then transfer back to the ship for dinner, overnight stay in Aswan

 

Day 2 : Aswan Sightseeing Tours

In the Royal Australian Navy, what are the bad things that they don't advertise in the recruitment brochures?

In other words, what are the cons of being in the Navy? They make it seem all so wonderful in the brochures, but I just want to know the not so good things they don't want to advertise.

I wasn't in the RAN but I served in the Canadian Navy for 26 years. There are many similarities between the two navies so I think my answer although based upon my experience is generally applicable to the RAN (and pretty much any navy) as well.

For me the biggest thing was a lack of privacy. Basically, when you're aboard ship at sea there is no place to go where you can just sit and be alone for an hour. There's always activity, always somebody around doing something. Also, a lack of personal space. you have to pack all of your kit into a small locker about the size of a locker in a high school so even if you're on a long trip you're quite limited as to what you can bring with you. Your mess deck (berthing area) can house as many as 20 guys or more so there's always noise, smells and lights to deal with when you're trying to sleep.

Another thing (this one never bothered me but it did bother a lot of guys) was sea sickness. It can take a long time to get your sea legs and get over being sea sick. Some guys just never do get over it. I knew a guy that tied a garbage bag to his belt because sea sickness would hit him at any time when he was at sea (it didn't even need to be rough)

the biggest issue to deal with though is being away from family and loved ones for months at a time. It takes a very strong family dynamic to survive the frequent absenses. I'm quite sure that sailors have the highest divorce rate of any of the military services.

Having said all of this, I can tell you one more thing. I've been retired for about 14 years now and if I could turn the clock back to age 18 again, I'd be at the front door of the Recruiting Office tomorrow morning and I'd do it all over again. I loved the life.
