Am i too late to select my carrier as system admin?
my friends am 28 year old and working in bpo as technical support. Actually i studied MCSE and CCNA three years before but after joining in my work i diverted from my trade now i willing to back to computer networking field by refreshing the course ccna and mcse. But it will take another 6 months to refresh the course. So if it try for a System admin carrier i will be fresher and have 29 years of age. Is too late and i will get a job as system admin or assistant system admin at the age of 29?
Dude, 29 is not that old, or maybe I am just saying that because I am 27... Anyway, it's never too late to change career paths. Ask yourself this, can you see yourself doing technical support in five years? If you're thinking that you'll face age discrimination, I cannot see that at all. I live in Portland, Oregon United States, work in UNIX systems administration, and many of my coworkers are in their 40s.
My father went to school in his 30s, got his PhD in Psychology, and is now a very respected Psychologist. It really is never too late.
