I'm doing a project and need to dress up as an Austrian woman at the end of the war. Any style pointers? hair, clothes, makeup? I'm assuming they had what they did at the start of the war, so early 1940s styles and a little worn looking. Anything would help!

If you have a chance - rent the 1949 Cary Grant movie "I was a Male War Bride." The scenes are shot in Germany at the end of WWII and show German women in the background.
Plain shoes, skirt over the knees, blouse and jacket should work - though no one would EVER think I know anything about women's fashion. LOL I do know a little about history.
